Are you looking for a placement to complete your Master of Clinical Psychology? Are you a registered Psychologist? Are you a University Placement Coordinator looking for options for your students?
Here at the Perinatal Professionals Hub we offer a fully structured placement program for post-registration Master of Clinical Psychology students. We can offer very flexible placement hours, providing telehealth from home, with a rich learning environment specific to the perinatal psychology field.
Working in partnership with Mums Matter Psychology, The Perinatal Professionals Hub can provide placements for Master of Clinical Psychology (Post Registration) students.
This encompasses perinatal psychology training and work with clients in both individual and group settings. Placements are flexible with start and end dates, working hours, and working from home. Supervision is provided weekly in both individual and group format.
Students have an exciting opportunity to:

Provide both individual and group therapy (if desired) for pregnant and new mums via Telehealth (work from home)

Observe intake telephone consultations with Mums Matter Psychology clientsduring which new patient information including presenting problems, brief mental health history, current risk factors, protective factors and key logistical

information is collected

Administer patient records (clinical note keeping) and learn about utilising Medicare in a private practice setting

Produce and deliver workshops for patients on topics relating to emotional distress around pregnancy or delivery, antenatal and postnatal depression antenatal and postnatal anxiety, adjustment to parenthood, pregnancy or neonatal grief and loss, relationship difficulties (if desired)

Work with and be supervised by Frances Bilbao (Clinical Psychologist), the 2020-2021 Allied Health Awards Psychologist of the Year and 2021 Australian Psychological Society College of Clinical Psychologists Significant Contribution Award-winner with over 10 years experience in the Perinatal field

Attend group supervision fortnightly with other Mums Matter Psychology psychologists and other students/interns/clinical registrars

Leverage referrals from and liaise closely with midwives, maternal and child health nurses and GPs for integrated perinatal care

Develop professionally through dedicated perinatal psychology training (both external and in-house)

Attend staff meetings if desired

Attend group supervision with team Psychiatrist

Work will take place from home via Telehealth with clients and online meetings with the Director.
