Perinatal Psychiatry Supervision
You are welcome to join the Mums Matter Psychology team for our group Psychiatry supervision session with Dr Cathrin Kusuma.
You don't need to be a current individual supervisee.
These sessions are a chance to:
Ask general questions regarding psychiatry or medication
Ask specific guidance about clients who you may be considering psychiatric intervention for
Ask specific guidance about clients who may not be able to afford to see a private psychiatrist and you would like to give some additional guidance to the GP
Cathrin is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, and currently works as the Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist at the Sunshine Hospital Perinatal Mental Health Service. She has extensive experience in perinatal psychiatry, and completed her advanced training at the Royal Women’s Hospital and the Werribee Mercy Mother Baby outpatient clinic.
Cathrin has worked in a range of perinatal settings, including at the Bendigo Parent Infant Unit, where she was the (initial) Psychiatrist leading a team of nurses and Psychiatrists in training before leaving when she was asked to (head/run/implement) the new Perinatal Mental Health Service at Sunshine Hospital.
Cathrin has experience in treating a wide range of mental health conditions in the perinatal period, and is able to advise about medications. She also utilises elements of various psychotherapies (CBT, DBT, psychodynamic) in her treatment, and aims to provide a holistic assessment and treatment plan.
