Coronavirus COVID-19 Update
12 December 2022
Mums Matter Psychology cares deeply about the safety of our patients.
As the coronavirus situation continues to evolve, so do the implications for services.
We are able to offer services face-to-face or via Telehealth (telephone or video conference). However, face-to-face sessions are still limited as only some clinicians have chosen to resume face-to-face work at this time.
As part of our COVID-Safe Plan to keep you and our staff safe, please be aware of the following if you choose to book face-to-face appointments:
-
Your clinician is fully (double) vaccinated against COVID-19
-
You will be entering a Maternal & Child Health building where there may be other unvaccinated people present who are using the Maternal & Child Health service (not Mums Matter Psychology)
-
If you are experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms, please use Telehealth and do not attend in person
Please note that you are able to continue using Telehealth even if you are eligible to return face-to-face.
Additional 10 MBS Mental Health Sessions during COVID-19
Building on existing support, the Better Access Pandemic Support Measure will provide 10 additional
Medicare subsidised psychological therapy sessions per calendar year until the end of 2022.
The additional sessions are for people who have already used their 10 individual Better Access
sessions in the calendar year.
If you are eligible, you will need to see your GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician for a review and referral to access the additional 10 sessions (sessions 11- 20). Your GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician will determine whether you will benefit from additional support.
These additional sessions will end as at 31st December 2022 and we will return to 10 sessions per calendar year in 2023.

We will keep you abreast of any further developments.
Take care
