Dr Sam is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and a Registered Play Therapist with the Australasia Pacific Play Therapy Association (APPTA). She has worked with children and families for over 16 years, across various disciplines. Dr Sam has completed perinatal specific training with the Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE) and maternal mental health training through the Seleni Institute.
Drawing from an interdisciplinary background in psychology, social work, child play therapy, and maternal mental health, Dr Sam offers a comprehensive and flexible approach to mental health care. Dr Sam’s expertise equips her to understand complex mother-child dynamics and advocate for her clients in various systems. Dr Sam’s practice is rooted in scientific research, ensuring evidence-based interventions.
In her supervisory role, Dr Sam guide supervisees in integrating diverse concepts to enhance their practice, underscoring the power of a multifaceted approach for better therapeutic outcomes. Dr Sam’s supervisory style incorporates elements of reflective supervision, promoting critical thinking, and self-awareness in her supervisees.
