Elke is a clinical psychologist with over 25 years experience. She values warmth, compassion, and empowering her clients to find a way to thrive.
Elke has supported many young parents through the challenges that can come with family planning including difficulties conceiving, making difficult decisions around unplanned or unwanted pregnancy, managing challenging pregnancy, still birth and loss, birth trauma, adjustment to parenthood, parent-infant bonding and attachment, relationship challenges, and retaining a strong sense of self, including often conflicting feelings around return to work and childcare planning.
Elke has a broad range of therapeutic modalities and frameworks to draw on to assist you along the way. In addition to the traditional cognitive behaviour therapies, she draws on emotion- and body-focussed therapies, as well as clinical hypnosis and positive psychology.
Elke holds both a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She has additional training in clinical hypnosis and body- and eating related concerns. She is a Board-approved supervisor and offers clinical supervision to fellow psychologists. She has served on the Psychology Board of Australia. Elke has completed specific training in perinatal mental health with the Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE).
When she is not consulting, she is usually on walks with her Border Collies, on a bicycle or boat, or hiding away with a craft project.
